2009 Christmas Bonus

We had Christmas on the 19th this year since the boys and I are travelling today - Christmas. We did not want to rush on Christmas morning and have the boys leave all their presents/toys. Although Santa came early, I, I mean HE, could not let the morning of the 25th go by without a little extra surprise....nothing big...... its the little things :)

Trick-Or-Treat 2009

What a fun night with my little Transformers. Aiden was Megatron, leader of the Decepticons and Ethan was Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. It was good vs. evil in our house all well....we love Halloween.

We started the night in our neighborhood going to our neighbors Mr. Bobby and Ms. Carol. We then went to Aiden’s teacher’s house - Ms. Dena. After that we went to base where all the houses are close together, decorated and safe! The kids did well, they said “trick or treat” and Ethan would yell “Thank You” and Aiden yelled “Happy Halloween” – they were well behaved and polite! I was so proud! We then went out to dinner for Mexican – true Halloween style. I did not have my ID and the waitress would not serve me a Margarita…she thought I was 20 which was just fine by me! Clearly we gave her a great tip.

Ethan's 3rd Birthday: Aug 10, 2009

My little man, Ethan, turned 3 today. We had a nice day spent celebrating in phases.First we had the morning serenade. Then we had "Celebration of Life" at his school. Ethan then got to choose where we went to dinner, and of course, he chose "the sushi fire place". Why my kids choose sushi over the traditional McDonald's I don't know but I am glad!

After dinner we came home, had some cake, opened and played with all the family presents. It was a fun day and my Little E felt the center of the universe :)

Now we have a week before his pool party, the final phase, with all his little friends.

Below are some videos from the day.

Luci - 8/9/2002-8/9/2009

Last night we lost our little min pin Lucilla (Luci). She was the sweetest little dog ever. After almost 2 months with congestive heart failure, she passed in our arms, late at night knowing she was loved. Rest in peace little Luci, we will miss you so much!

Life's A Beach

Life's a beach, or at least it was for our family on July 3rd. We spent the day at Tybee Island, GA. After a 3 hour drive (thank goodness for dual screen DVD players!) we made it. This was the kids second trip to the beach and again, they had a blast. We spent the first hour or so playing on the beach and in the water. Aiden enjoyed playing shark with daddy, Ethan was more into playing with his construction trucks in the sand.

The second half of the day we enjoyed a dolphin tour. There was lots of excitement on and off the boat. The tour was slightly extended as a poor lady passed out just 10 minutes into the ride. Fortunately she was ok, we doubled back and dropped her and her family back off at the dock. We headed out again and saw at least 50 dolphins all around us. We also enjoyed amazing views of the Island and the lighthouses.

Yet again we had another fun day trip to Tybee Island. We dusted off the sand, well most of it, loaded up the car and headed home. Before we got back on the freeway the kids were asleep. Next time we plan on making it a weekend trip. There is so much to do and it is always so fun - life is a beach, sometimes.

Full Time Job(s)

I like to think of myself as a mom that works as opposed to a working mom. Balancing work and life has always been a challenge for me, a challenge that I have never understood. Clearly I love my family more than work and as that saying goes we all should "work to live, not live to work". So why is it so hard to "turn off" work mode at night? I have always been type A and will probably always be type A - but family comes first. Thanks to all who keep me on track and thanks to my boys for letting me be a mom that works, I do believe that I am better mom because of it!

Getting With The Times

I work for a local leads company where we sell on-line and print advertising that generates leads for businesses. It seems a little hypocritical that I develop pricing plans for products including websites and I don't even know how to create a website. So, my first attempt at getting with the times is this blog. I hope to take additional SEM and google courses so that I can stay with the times!
